Privacy Policy

The short version

WitDuel has no accounts, no sign-up, and no ads. Your game data (scores, streaks, settings) lives on your device. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous usage analytics, described below. We do not know who you are, and we like it that way.

What we collect

• Anonymous analytics events via PostHog: things like "daily completed", "score shared", "rival battle started", the score values involved, your device platform (iOS/Android), and the app language.
• A random device identifier, generated locally on first launch (for example "local-abc123"). It is not your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, or advertising ID; we do not link it to your identity and it contains nothing that identifies you.
• Crash reports: if the app hits an error, we receive the error message and technical details such as a stack trace so we can fix it.

What we do NOT collect

• No email, phone number, or contacts. An optional display name you type in Profile stays on your device unless you choose to include it in a challenge link. It is not sent in analytics, and it is not used to identify you.
• No location data
• No advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID) and no tracking across other apps or websites
• No photo, microphone, camera, or clipboard reading. If you tap Save Image, your share card is written to your photo library with your permission; we never read your photos.
• No data from or about the friends you challenge: challenge links contain only a day number, a score, the app language, and the first name you chose to attach. When a link is opened in a web browser, our website host processes standard server logs.

How analytics are used

To answer product questions like "do players finish the daily?" and "does sharing work?". Data is processed by PostHog (cloud analytics, US hosting) on our behalf. We do not sell or share it with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your game data

Scores, streaks, rival records, and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. There is no cloud copy in this release.

Data deletion

Analytics are keyed to the random device identifier only. To have that history deleted, email us the request at support@eitllc.org; deleting the app also stops all collection immediately.

Children

WitDuel is a general-audience word and numbers game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included: see "What we do NOT collect" above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new effective date.
